ENGLAND & WALES

The assemblies in the North-East of England resumed the annual exercise of Bible Readings and Ministry on the first Saturday of each month during the winter, beginning on 6th October. The portions under consideration from October to the end of 2007 comprised Hebrews 10 to Hebrews 11. The readings have been led by Mr David West from Leicester, and Mr John Stubbs and Mr Robert Miller both from Mayfield. They have been of considerable help and blessing to the Lord's people, and there has been good participation by the brethren in response to the excellent leading of the Lord's servants. In October, Mr West ministered on Exodus 17. In November, Mr Stubbs on The Coming Again of the Lord Jesus from various portions of John's writings. In December Mr Miller gave devotional ministry taking up in Luke's Gospel examples of Those Who Handled the Lord.

The believers at Bethany Gospel Hall, High Wycombe were particularly encouraged during 2007. In May a boy was saved at the Romsey Camp (run by Thames Valley Christian Camps), and then in June a lady was saved following contact and witness through the weekly Coffee Morning. She was baptised in September. Towards the end of the year, 5 new children started attending Sunday Afternoon Seekers. In the run-up to Christmas the assembly held a Christmas Supper, a Christmas Family Service and Children's Prize Giving, a Carol Service and a Christmas Coffee Morning. Over the 4 events a total of 41 unbelievers attended including children; 33 of which were different individuals. On each occasion there was a good opportunity to present the gospel and a good number of tracts, books and calendars were distributed. We look to the Lord for further blessing.
